Rapture is the term that is used for the catching up of Christian to meet with the Lord in the air. whether the term rapture was used in the bible is not relevant what matters is that the event refers to as the rapture is in the bible. This is clearly stated in the book of second Thessalonians
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (2Thess 4:15-17)
Salvation means to be saved and for us Christians it means saved from death, as it is written “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Jesus came to save us from death therefore he says; “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
However, to be saved from death has far reaching implication “…for a living dog is better than a dead lion” (Ecclesiastes 9:4) with death goes all strength and make the creature subject to every form of oppression and this is the cause of the trouble of man in this world, therefore it was said of the Lord Jesus that he went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.
